Well, the capacitor did NOT fix it.
Seems like it had an intermittent compressor problem.
I checked out the compressor when I started. The windings were ok, no shorts, no grounds, everything added up.
Sometimes the compressor would come right on. a few times it would groan a bit. and every once in a while it would howl and trip the overload.
I got a new relay and it did not change a thing.
I got a hard start on it, and just ran the compressor direct. same intermittent problem. sometimes works (and cools) some times complains, and sometimes howls and trips off.
Dab? Tgoods? Is there a physical pressure/freon/dryer/oil problem that would cause this on/off problem? The system has not been opened, and it began cooling noticeably when it did run.
