Kenmore refrigerator ice/water dispenser problems . model 106.50524101

Hi, trying to figure out this mystery. First, the unit had a broken micro switch for the water dispenser. No problem replaced it and had water. Now, the ice dispenser is haywire. When the ice maker cycles to ice the ice tray water fills and water also comes out the front water dispenser on the door. I thought I had a bad solenoid. I tested them and applied voltage to each. They appear and sound like they are working. Why is water coming out the door dispenser. Is it possible I hooked up the solenoids wrong. It has three . One inlet and  a dual set up for ice maker and water dispenser.  One red solenoid, one purple and one green. The connectors are colored red,purple and white. is it possible that the water solenoid is sticking open allowing water to flow. I have very hard water here and wondering if the solenoid is sticking open. Any help is appreciated. I can't seem to find any wiring diagrams online.

Did you play around with solenoid first before you replace switch on dispenser ?

No, the switch activation arm was broken. I basically checked the voltage to the solenoids but didn't get to in depth. What are you thinking it could be?

 how about when you use the dispenser were goes water come out if any?

The door water dispenser works fine. I just get water coming from there when the ice maker is trying to fill.

Did you move any tubings on water valve

I did , but labeled them so I got them back on. Possible that one is backwards?

You got something backwards. i no you have a three solenoid water valve.One solenoid on the plug in is smaller then the other two.So that should go to the smallest terminal on valve.the other two electrical plug in are same sizes.Did you remove any wires on valve is were on going .If not you have tubing problem.

I looked for a tech sheet but couldn't find one.  Could you post a picture of the schematic?  Some of these dual valve systems have a couple of diodes in the circuit.  If one of the diodes shorts out, it will send power to both valves.

I found this on appliance pro part site .it as same water valve with wire colors may help.

I checked the connector hook ups looks good. I did find where all water inlet connectors splice together a burnt area . I opened up the wiring bundle and found 2 burnt wires touching.I probed each connector and found power to both the ice and water solenoids when the maker cycles. Is there a diode in this bundle that is shorted? Is it possible to buy just the wiring harness for the water inlet.? thanks.

I don,t think you have a diode in the wiring ,but without a diagram who knows.You will not be able to buy a new harness.You are going to have to splice new wires in if you can.Sound like this is were the problem is.
