GE GSH25JFTACC defrost problem

The original complaint was not cooling. This is a sxs with the board on the back. the evaporator was full of frost. I put a jumper between line and defrost on the blue connecter at the bottom of the board. Heater comes on. I defrost it and install a new board. One week later I get the call again and sure enough its not defrosting.
I do it all again and install another board. Two months later I get the call again. Sure enough same problem so I go through the procedure a third time. That was two weeks ago and so far no call. The boards don't have any burned spots or overheated components. Is there another part I should also be changing?

Does that model have a encoder in fresh food section?

Take a reading on evaporator thermistor if you get a call back on it and it is frozen again.You should get 16.3k.

No encoder inside. Has a digital readout on the fountain.

With that many call backs i would change all the thermistors.Or at least evaporator one.At least check them all out.Probably the evaporator one is the culprit.

I second the evap thermistor.  If you check the resistance, it should be obvious.  It will get moisture inside and a lower resistance.  Since the thermistor is designed to reduce resistance as the temperature increases, the computer reads the low resistance as a higher temperature and won't energize the heater.

Change the termiistor on evap coil and that will solve your problem guaranteed.
