Our washing machine (purchased in 2006) stopped working and displayed the code ND. We purchased a new drain pump and the machine still stops mid-cycle and displays the ND code.
Next, we followed the technical information guide and placed the machine into service mode. The board output test doesn't seem to be working but all of the other tests passed. We're not sure what is happening when it gets to the OT test since it doesn't flash or do anything. It displays the code OT.
We then ran the washer again and when it got to the point of needing to drain, we heard a faint clicking noise by the controls, almost like it's trying to send a signal to the pump to drain. It eventually displays the ND code again. We're assuming there's no blockage since my husband was able to drain it manually by lowering the drain hose to release the water and the washer would then continue to the next cycle. So we are able to complete a full wash cycle if he does this every time the machine stops to drain.
Is this a control board issue? If so, does the entire board have to be replaced? We already invested $170 in a pump that is non-returnable. I don't want to spend more money on this washer if we end up having to buy a new one anyways. From everything I read, this washer is a pile of you know what!! Thanks for your help.
p.s. Update as of 10:14 am. My husband was just playing with the control board and he got the pump to run. If he wiggles the back of the control panel, he can get it to run. So there must be an issue with the control board or a connection. I'm guessing that means we need a control board. Shari
