My problem started a couple of months ago when one day the freezer started to thaw then after a short period refroze and worked correctly until recently.
This time the freezer would not work as the compressor had stopped running, so I unplugged it from the wiring loom and fed raw mains into it. The compressor started to run and also to refreeze.
Eventually during my investigations found that when the fridge door switch was in the closed position that the compressor had stopped working, but other functions like water dispensing, the fridge chilling worked, (this appears to be the main reason for the freezer to thaw so quickly). I am now running with the door switch unplugged as well as the internal lighting in hope that a solution is at hand.
I suspect the control board is the problem, but as I have a 240volt system need to know if the units sold in USA (110 volt) will work, and if the JAZZ14 controller communally available will work in my model as the label on my control board states “JAZZ-Rev M”.
I would appreciate a schematic or service data for this control unit, it looks quite simple using a PIC controller, relays, and some SCR switching. Any help will be most welcome.
