SAMSUNG RF268ABRS ICE MAKER - BAD SUBSITUTE?

Does anyone have any experience with the freezer icemaker subbing over to the fresh food / refrigerator ice maker part number?

I ordered and received the sub part and didn't look at it until I got to the call. When I opened it I recognized it as the upper im. Since I had previously reattached the thermistor to the tray and the retainer had a broken clip, and it's been working since, I didn't want to uninstall the existing im again to examine it but the sub im will not work in it's place. I figured it was a parts listing error but all the sites I have used to look up the im shows it being subbed over to the one I received.

The upper im is longer, it mounts differently & the plug different.
