New whirlpool design md# wtw4950xwo
« on: August 22, 2012, 05:38:12 PM »
New whirlpool design md# wtw4950xw0 washer. Lid lock clicking. Lid lock light flashing. Put unit into diagnostic mode. Everything test good until agitate and spin cycle are check. All led's flash. One day soon this will be an easy solution, but now this is a new design and we are all trying to figure out. Is this something that anyone has run across? Tub turns freely so unlike the last one I worked on the other day that was doing the same thing, this motor is not frozen.

I've worked on 2 of these recently.   Both times problem was the actuator (part no. W10006355) - I keep one of these on the truck.    It only takes a couple of minutes to change it to see if that is the problem instead of going through all the diagnostics or checking the wires.     If it is out of position,  washer will not agitate or spin and does nothing.  Might be your bad boy.

I've got to go over this a.m. And i'll check the fault and error codes and I'll keep that in mind with the switch. Thanks.

I've run into a few with bad lid locks. When you are in diagnostics, the first position, 00 or all LED's off is where you can check the lid lock by pressing the start button. Also, lid must be locked that way for agitate or spin to run in diagnostics.

Problem solved. Faulty lid switch. I didn't want to believe that was the problem as the switch actually tested good. Thanks guys.

Harold when you installed the new switch did the lid lock with the machine unplugged?
