maytag washer motor does not run

My Maytag LAT2500AAE washer motor does not run. I have checked all switches, and unit does not have a fuse. I've checked voltage all the way down to the motor. I have 120VAC on every wire in and out of the Overload Protector on top of the motor but the motor still will not run. The motor does turn freely by hand. Before I purchase a motor, I would like someone to confirm that this indicates a bad motor, thank you!

Will the machine fill with water? If it has, put your ear up to the timer and see if you can hear the timer motor.

Yes it fills with water. I will check the timer. What does it mean if I can hear the timer?

It means the lid switch is good and we can refocus on the motor.

Take the leads off the motor overload and do a continuity test to see if you have a open overload protector. you should be reading 0volts if the overload protector is closed
