Maytag MTW5740TQ0 Porforma with bad vibration
« on: August 17, 2012, 08:17:41 AM »
I have a maytag perfoma washer that has a bad vibration when is spin cycle and has progressively gotten worst. I do not know where to start, would bad bearings do this?

This washer has self leveling legs on the back. When there working properly you can lean forward and set back down and it will self level. I would make sure that unit is right. Also is unit on a good solid foundation? Other possibilities include the balance ring. Diagram 3 part 17. This could be faulty.

I got a hold of one of these that would about walk itself out the door in spin cycle.  The suspension pads were wore down.

Going to dig into it this weekend. What is the part number for the suspension pads?
Thanks for the replies.

If it has worn down to metal to metal contact, you should replace the skate plate which comes with all of the suspension pads.  This requires a complete breakdown of the washer. It's tough to do but you can replace just the pads without tearing down the machine.
