Kenmore 70 series washer. No spin or agitation but drains.

I have a 70 series kenmore that all of a sudden one day stopped spinning and agitating.  I don't hear any noise from it at all in the spin or agitate cycles.  If you kick it over to the drain cycle you hear the pump working to remove the water.  What could this be?   Thanks for any help you might give me.

 i get calls where the customer says they have a 70 or 80 series washer. Seems like its always been a regular old topload. So I find it odd that you say there is no noise in the spin cycle yet it will pump out since the same motor does both. I think my next step would be to check the motor coupler.
