Hey Dab: I have the new motherboard but as it has a bunch of instructions about "eliminating thermistor wire" and "cut green wire in capacitor board", I thought I would wait until I have some time next weekend to work on fridge as it is working fine despite the condenser fan motor not working.

Thanks for your interest.

Richard

You can use a small box fan to cool the compressor if need to be until you install the board.

There's nothing special or difficult about installing this board. Check your serial number against what's on the instruction sheet. You probably will not have to cut anything. Simply install the board. Make sure you take static off your body by touching your fingers to unpainted metal on refrigerator. Do this before touching the new board.

Supply voltage at J2 terminal block on motherboard is 13.00 DCV.
Signal voltage at J2 terminal block on motherboard is 13.00 DCV.
Supply voltage at motor terminal connector is 13.00 DCV.
Signal voltage at motor terminal connector is 13.00 DCV.

were those voltages measurements taken while the Fan was connected ?
(should be)

from the installation instructions:
All BOTTOM FREEZER models:
STEP 2 ELIMINATE THERMISTOR WIRE IN PIN 2 OF J1 CONNECTOR
STEP 4 CUT GREEN WIRE IN CAPACITOR BOARD

Hey all my appliance chat friends:

Have installed new motherboard and new condenser fan motor.

Condenser fan motor still doesn't turn however a section of the fan case, near the wire input area, gets warm and the motor shaft seems to have a "catch" when turning the shaft manually. It turns free when unplugged.

Other than that,....fridge works fine and it's 80F in our area today.

Still puzzled in Ontario
