Hi setting tends to stop working and turns cold. Medium setting works most of the time.

elaborate a little. Does the entire machine come on, when turned on high? Or just not the heat?

Do you smell anything after it shuts down? If there is a strong smell of copper then the motor is bad.

Don't rule out your temp select switch.

Only the heat stops working. I don't smell anything like copper. How do I test the temp select switch?

You will probably have to look at your wiring diagram. I worked on one the other day with same problem. I wiggled the temp switch and I heard the coil click. Problem solved. Try that.

On the front lower left of the dryer remove the little plastic cover and take a peek inside.  If you see the ignitor cycle on and off with no release of gas from the valve, you have bad gas valve coils.
