FRS26ZSGB2 No Ice

I have read that if the ice maker does not fill with water it is a bad water valve. My water spigot in the door works. Does this mean that it is something other than the water valve? FRS26ZSGB2

The water valve has two solenoids. One for the icemaker and one for the water dispenser. Look at the valve. It should have two plastic lines coming out of the bottom. The icemaker side is the one with the smaller diameter. Use an ohmmeter to check the solenoid.

Also check that fill tube coming in is not blocked by ice. If solenoid has an open winding or if ice is blocking tube, simply replace valve.
