Maytag MSD2756DEB Defrost Control Board?

I replaced the defrost control board 61005988 and when I unplugged the old one the compressor cut off. I plugged in the new one and the compressor did not start back up. The unit has not come back on in three hours now. What could have unplugging the board have to do with this?

Dabs the new control board has to be programed using the numbers off the model number tag. Did you do that?

that control board dosen't have to be programmed. are the condenser and evaporator fans running?

The fans do not run.

Recheck everything as you no you had to drop down panel in refrigerator and may have left something unplug .What was the reason to replace board?Make sure new board is plug in right.You do not have to reprogram that board as stated.

The refrigerator was not defrosting. The heating element and thermostat tested ok so I'm replacing the board.
Will check the connections. Thanks for the advice.

I replaced one last month that was faulty out of the box. Replaced one last week that went into defrost. Unplugged unit for one minute,
Plugged in, working good. Go figure?

 I replaced the defrost control board 61005988 and when I unplugged the old one the compressor cut off.     Maybe I'm wrong,  but did you have the power on when you unplugged the board?    You should have unplugged the refrigerator to change the board.    Still,  New board should have worked when you plugged it in even if you still had power on.    I also had a bad one of these same boards about 6 months ago out of box,  Get a new one but if you had unit plugged in,   unplug first before installing board.
