Amana AER5830 Range - Cannot remove cooktop

I'm having a devil of a time getting the cooktop off of my Amana AER5830; I took the two front screws off so that I can lift the top.  However, I can't remove it; it appears to be held in place by two screws attached to some clips at the back.  There's not much room at all (only the stubbiest of screwdrivers will even fit) and I can't get these screws to budge.  Anyone have any experience with this?

From what I can see this top Has two screws At the front and two "hinges" on the back. It should lift back.

I've tried that a few times and had no luck, either lifting straight off or pushing back; I'll give it another shot when I get home and post pictures if I'm unsuccessful.

And just to clarify (as I should have done to begin with, my bad), I'm trying to get the cooktop itself off, so that I can replace it (the wife went a little butterfingers with a blender and cracked/broke the current one).  Pictures of the offending screw/hinge assembly are attached

UPDATE AGAIN!  I finally solved it, by accident, after four days of going nuts over this damned thing.

While I had it open, just a crack, I applied a little sideways pressure and the hinges popped right out.  I wasn't even trying to do anything and it came out.

At any rate, the new cooktop is in, thanks guys!
