How do I access the water valve on a GE refrigerator?

It seems that the ice chute needs to be removed to change the water valve and solenoid, but it seems to be glued in the front edge. Don't want to tear it up. Suggestions? Thanks.

Look under the control panel and you'll see three tabs.  Push up on those tabs with a small screwdriver while pulling the bottom of the control panel forward.  After that it's easy but you won't find a water valve in there.

If your not getting any water out of the dispenser, first yank off the toe kick. On the left side you will see a quick disconnect. Remove one side and press your dispenser. If water comes out then you have water frozen in the interior of the freezer door.
