dryer not heating, fixed wire and replaced element
(1/1)
Chief:
My dryer m# WED5300SQ0 stopped heating the other day. I pulled it out and noticed that the wire in the outlet box shorted. I fixed the wire and it now has power. The plug face where it connects to the outlet charred a little, but not bad. I've checked the plug and it has power. Where the plug cord connects inside the Dryer has power. All the leads leaving the wiring terminal have power ( except violet one at timer). The dryer will no longer heat and the timer will not turn. I replaced the heating element, but now know that I just threw a part at it b/c problem remains the same. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Sound like timer is bad, did you test thermal fuse, thermal cut off, & thermostats with an ohm meter?
