dryer showed error code of AF . had vent specialist come out and clean vent from back of dyer to exit outside house. next time went to use dryer it wouldnt start---- push start and it would just show the cycle time and the word"sensing". after some reading about causes opened up front and checked thermal fuse and sure enough it showed bad(no continuity). replaced thermal fuse and just to make sure replaced the thermistor and both high limits on heating element. reassemble,pug in and it fired right up and ran fine. let it run for about 10 minutesand all seemed fine except it was extremly hot the top of the cabinet nearly burned your hand---also this was happening before the AF started. the last few times it was used before this all started the cabinet was hot and the clothes were so hot they would burn you.      went to use again maybe thirty minutes after initial run and now it wont start again and says"sensing". checked the thermal fuse and it appears that my brand new thermal fuse is out again. checked vent to makesure it had been cleaned properly and it is clean as a whistle. vent runs 3 foot sraight then makes 90 degree turn and then goes 4 feet straight out of house. checked with flashlight from both inside and out not a speck of lint. flexibledryer vent hose perfectly clean and not kinked in any way when dryer in position. remaved blower housing in front and blower looks clean. any idea what could be causing overheat and failure of thermal fuse afraid just replacing thermal fuse wont cure problem . any input appreciated

Yall need to open up the dryer and take out the drum. Inspect the innards. Click on pic to enlarge:

Make sure heat elect is not shorted to ground.

The small belt is driven bat a pulley attached to the motor. This pulley tends to fall off on these.

And, that pulley has left-hand threads, too. If it has spun off, be sure & use a little blue lock-tite  on the threads.

yeah that secondary(blower wheel)belt was on both pulleys(top of blower and pulley on motor) and is turning fine. the blower front cover was clean of lint and the blower housing that it attaches to had one little plastic bead about bb size and one string of lint about the size of my thumb that i removed. in fact the whole inside of this dryer is surprisingly lint free . havent checked that short to ground element could try that next. do any of you think the operating stat could just not be working right and letting it get so hot it blows thermal fuse or is that not likely. also any possibility the board could be involved. thanks for your input guys.

What about the vent to outside is it clear? How long is the run from the dryer to the outside?
