Frigidaire Fridge + Freezer

My wife and I just moved into an apartment, so all the appliances are new to us. The freezer seemed a bit to warm so I turned it to 7 on the temperature dial. Now the refrigerator is freezing our cilantro and water Mellon, but the freezer seems to be fine though still not quite cold enough.

Is this common for this model or type of fridge?

If it's been running for a short time, you might want to give it a little more time. Also this refrigerator has what 's called a static condenser. Refrigeration is in a nut shell is  "the movement of heat". Static condensers do not use fan forced air, therefore is good deal to give a little room, so it can breath. Pull it away from wall a couple inches and set your controls at a mid point setting. Anything below 10 degrees in the freezer would be acceptable. 40 or below in fresh food section. ,make sure the fan in your freezer is working. If the compressor is running, then that motor should be on.
