How to replace a Maytag - Amana washer water pump and belt.

I have taken the torx screws off but I cannot for the life of me get the pump off of the motor. Is there a trick to this?

Why are you removing the pump? Has the pump been leaking?

If the water pump has been leaking it may have rusted up the end of the motor shaft making it difficult to remove the pump.
You may have to pry the pump off the shaft of the motor.

I'm sorry (maybe it is not the pump, I'm a complete rookie), I'm trying to remove the thing that is fastened on to the motor by the three torx screws. I am believe I need to do this so that I can put a new belt on (the old one is broken).

If you have the three screws removed then the pump should just pull off unless its stuck on the shaft and in that case you will have to pry it off.
I have seen many of these style pumps leak just enough water to rust up the motor shaft, but not leak enough that anyone ever noticed water on the floor.

I take a hacksaw and cut the pump off. Anythang else and you ruin the motor. Just take your time. Been there Done that

I can usually get them off with a flat pry bar and a 2x4.  Worst case is hammer and chisel.  Be sure you clean all of the rust off the motor shaft or your new pump will leak.
