GE Washer won't spin Model # WHRE5550K2WW

GE washer model# WHRE5550K2WW
Don't know how old it is because we bought it used.
Will not spin during the rinse and spin cycles.
When it should be spinning it just makes a loud humming sound.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I don't get to work on GE washers a ton, but I once had one that the owner thought the transmission was out.  After taking off the front panel, I could see that the motor was working but the clutch wasn't engaging.  I replaced the clutch.  Have you taken off the front panel to see what's going on?  If the belt is slipping and you got a lot of black dusty residue near the belt area, it could just need the belt replaced.

This is a hydrowave. The mode shifter that resembles a transmission has two wires that attach to the inverter board on the motor. Check your ohm value. I think it's 96 ohms.

This motor has a a small green light on it on the right top side. It is a fault code light. There is a tech sheet under the timer console that will tell you what a certain number of blinks mean. If there is no light visible, then the in line fuse is blown. If there is a one second on with one second off repeated then this is normal. If not unplug machine for one minute, then plug it in and within 10 seconds lift the lid appr 3 inch and back down 7 times.
