Ya.Thats good that they are coming out.You do  have 5 years on compressor and seal system .They can meaning G.E. can tell by serial number  what year and month the refrigerator was made.Hope it is seal system problem and under 5 years because they will then probably will not even charge you a service charge.

If you post the serial number, we can tell you when it was manufactured.  The home builder may have purchased a bunch of appliances at the same time to get a good price and then sat on them for a while.  If the manufacture date is over 5 years, GE should accept proof of your house sale as the purchase date.

TM312173.  I can get the purchase date from where we know the builder bought it (builder no longer exists).  Plus I have all our closing documents so I am not so worried.

Yep.  He came out. I purposely didn't tell him anything that happened so far.  He was there for 15 minutes looked inside, then rolled it out and looked in the back.  He immediately said it was the compressor.

They are shipping it out FedEx and installing on Wednesday.  Warranty applies.

GE Service came by today and installed the compressor.  No payment required, not even the trip charge.  Warranty covered it all.

Thanks for update.Sometimes we try to help people with there appliance problems and we give them things to check or advice and never here from them and wonder did it fix the problem or not.Thanks for keeping up to date of what was going on with your refrigerator.
