Help! SubZero 532 not cooling enough in Fridge area

Hi there,

I am by no way a reapair guy. However I usually can figure most things out and try my hardest before I have to call in the big guys. I have a SubZero 532 fridge that I got for what I thought a great price a year ago. I paid $1400. Well I have noticed that the fridge isnt as cold as it was before. I have read through a lot of post and googled it. I took off the back pannel in the fridge and let my fridge totally defrost and then turned it back on and now after about 2 hours the top 2 lines on the evaporator are frosting over and the bottom doesnt feel that cold. The fan works so do I need a new evap or does it need a charge? What gives?

Subzeros are notorious for their leaking evaporators.  A recharge will get it going for a while.  The correct repair is to replace the evaporator and drier, and then recharge. If it has 134a refrigerant, Subzero recommends replacing the compressor too.
