Kenmore refrigerator compressor issue?

My Kenmore elite refrigerator model 106.54609300 will cycle the compressor for about 5 seconds and then stop.  I suspected the compressor, start relay, or capacitor.  I switched the relay/capacitor with the one on my upright freezer... freezer works with either--fridge runs 5 seconds with either.  I checked the compressor for grounds, open- and short-circuits with an ohm meter but found nothing.  Also, we have had several instances of power loss and/or flickering lately.  Any suggestions on what to check next?  Thank you.

To start with the correct start relay for your model refrigerator is part # 2319792


I don't know about switching the start relays around with your freezer like you did, but being it worked on your freezer it maybe ok, not sure.


If you have power to the start relay and the compressor won't stay running it's either the start relay of the compressor.
You seem to have ruled out the start relay, I guess.

Agree, bad compressor. Tripping out. You can put a amp meter on it and check for sure, however it sounds like your start is energizing and run not going .
