Replacing Control Board in Whirlpool Double Oven

Hey all,

I am in the process of replacing the control board on my Whirlpool Double Oven due to the error code E6F2. I have almost got all of the wires disconnected but I am having trouble removing 2 of the larger black connectors. Each holds 4 wires, colored orange, pink, and black. Is there a trick to removing these or does it simply take brute force? I don't want to damage the connectors in the process of removing them from the old board. Please help!

Could you post a photo of the connectors your having trouble with?

It's hard to tell from that angle, but there could be a tab on the side of the plugs that you need to release.
I have taken your photo and pointed out where I'm talking about.


If there is a tab it's often obvious by looking at it that the tab needs to be pushed in for it to release.
Sometimes there is just a alignment pin too that goes into a extra hole in the board so you can only plug it in one way and not get them mixed up.


If you don't see any tab on the side of that plug that you can push in then it simply maybe that hard to pull off. I do run into that once in awhile.


If you want take another photo of the plug from the side I will take a second look.

Those connectors just need brute force.  Try rocking them back and forth a little bit.  If that doesn't work, slide a flat screwdriver under the connector and give it a twist.

At any rate here is a better angle to see the connection.

Brute force applied... plugs removed... new board installed.
Are there any specifics I should test before cooking??
