The switch broke a few months ago, it came apart, i super glued it back together and it has worked fine for quite sometime. I have not tested the switch yet. I thought i saw a test on another post.

I would check the lid switch for continuity with a multimeter as shown in the video at this link.

If the Lid Switch were bad, it should still Agitate on that model.
It could be a bad / burnt / loose Washer Motor Plug / Wires,
OR bad (contacts inside the) Timer

Make sure the connetion to the timer is in tight. I found one that had backed out a little and stopped the spining

I tested the switch as instructed in the video, test showed bad switch. Switch arrived today, installed put everything back together. basin filled then nothing. I hear the same hum and what sounds like it trying to cycle as before. I sounds like its coming from the timer.

Next suggestion.

How do i test the capacitor?

thank you!

I have not checked the capacitor yet, but lets say I have, what would the next step be? I'm going to go check the timer now.

Thank you!

Wiggle the wire harness near the motor plug well it's humming and see if the motor kicks in.

To do this I would remove the cabinet, jump out the lid switch and put the washer in the spin cycle.
Then as the motor is humming wiggle the harness near were it plugs into the motor.

If the motor kicks in you have a bad connection.

You could also disconnect the motor from the pump and transmission, but leave the wire harness plugged into the motor.
Then try and run the washer in the spin cycle with the motor just sitting on the floor. You may want to put your foot on the motor to keep it from jumping around if it starts.

Let us know what you find.
