Bishop:
I've got a friend who has opened up a few washing machine before said he will come by next week to pull the Agitater and follow your instructions.

I'll post what we find

Thanks

Bishop:
I wached the Video about the coupler change and was amazed at the front, top and side came off quickly in one piece.

Does My Kenmore Elite open up like the Video???

Yep, sure does. :)

Bishop:
ID'd the problem with your help, the coupler is OK.

The transmission is bad. I have not opened the transmission yet but is it the problem.

Can the transmission be repaired or am I limited to total replacement?

I don't think you can get parts for them anymore. I use to repair them 15-20 years ago.
Now day's they just get replaced and most often I only to a tranny job if it is still under warranty.

The tranny is not cheap, but if your going to do the job yourself then it may not be all that bad.

Here is the tranny for your washer.

Gear Case/Transmission

So what did you find wrong with the tranny?
Was it leaking oil all over the place?
