I have a 2002 Whirlpool frig with the ice bin on the door and infrared control. The model number of the frig is GD5SHAXLT02. The original ice maker unit failed due to a cube getting stuck in the blade slots. Without getting too long winded with all the sordid details, here is what I have done so far to try to get this working again; I replaced the whole ice maker assembly, twice !! (Part # 2198597), I replaced the water valve (Part # W10408179), I replaced both optic boards (Part # 4389102), I lowered temp of the freezer and checked to make sure it is in range, I tested the fill tube by jumping ports L and V and water comes out just fine. The optics boards were my last resort, and I really thought that was it, but this unit is doing nothing. It does not cycle and it does not call for water. I have now replaced everything and I still cannot get this thing to make ice. Needless to say, I am beyond frustrated. What could I possibly be missing ? Has anyone ever gone through this ? What else could be causing this to not make ice ? If anyone can shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

You really have replaced everything. Let's try this. Remove the receiver board on the right side.  Use an insulated paper clip to jump the black wire to the black wire with white stripe. Then jump T to H on the icemaker, remove the jumper after a few seconds. Let me know what happens.

Your freezer needs to get down to temp before the ice maker will cycle.  I always shoot for 10 degrees or less.

I have made a cheater cord out of a old ice maker harness with a extention cord that plugs in a outlet to cycle the ice maker while out like the 2198597 ice maker. you can jump the t h while out and test it first them jump it out again and leave it in a harvest mode.

I do have an old harness I can sacrifice and an old extension cord I can use for the cheater. Can you give me some guidance on what wires you hooked it up to ? I have the unit pulled out already. Thanks.

You can cut or remove the green wire and brown wire from the harness that plugs into ice maker .

I plugged in the cheater and jumped ports T and H and the unit does nothing. I tested ports N and M and i am getting 120v there, but the unit does not cycle at all. When testing this way, does the unit cycle immediately or does it take a while? This is the 2nd unit I have bought for this since the original failed. The first replacement unit I bought did nothing as well, so I returned it for a refund and bought this unit from a different supplier. Both replacements were after market units made by Supco. Could I have gotten 2 bad units back to back or could something in my frig wiring be burning these out?

If you jump out T and H and have a good connection there the ice maker should cycle.I have never used a Supco ice maker maybe why they are a lot cheaper?
