cgs980sem1ss Turns off by itself after 20 min

This oven heats seems to work fine for about 20 minutes.  Then it shuts off.  Back to the normal standby mode, but none of the buttons work at that point.  If you unplug it and plug it back in, it works fine again for a bit.  then it does the same thing. 

Seemed like a control board issue to me so I put in a new control board.  It did the same thing.

In some other forums (that aren't as trustworthy) people suggest that it could be the temp sensor in the oven sending the wrong signal.  Thats my next plan is to get a new sensor.

Has anyone seen this problem?  was it the sensor?

So I put a new temp sensor in and tried it out.  it got up to 400 degrees and cycled slightly above and below as it should, according to my digital temp meter.  I assumed it was working, hit the cancel/stop button and then it wouldnt work again.  the only button that would work was the cancel button.  clock, bake, broil, etc would not even beep.


So I unplugged it and plugged it back in and told the customer I would research it and then be back.


He just texted me and said now it seems to be working fine.


hmmm.  Anybody heard of this problem?

That seem odd. Never had anything like that happen.

If that quick connect is greasy that will sometimes happen. Cut out the connector block and use wire nuts and sometimes the original sensor will magically come back to life. Seen it.
