If I end up replacing the Compressor and all the lines;   How much do you think this would be worth when I'm done ?  I don't want to throw a ton of money into it ,and it's only worth $500.

Don't know either, you plan on replacing the sealed system yourself?

I can't do it myself. I'm not licensed or trained.  That's why I was asking about the cost / value ratio.     

How can I wire the compressor up directly to see if it even works ?

I wonder if you can use a three in one to test it.  Many people in the field use them to test compressors. 

  If the compressor has the common, start and run fittings you should be able to.

Be carful with the Sulfur Dioxide. that stuff will put you down fast,..
