Washer Reset

I have an LG WM2496HWM and during a wash cycle it will periodically just shut off and has to be unplugged to be "reset" before it can be restarted. Any thoughts would be appreciated. It works fine otherwise but just shuts itself down once in a while.

How much soap you using? Using the correct soap?

Sounds like a problem at the outlet.  Try running an extension cord to another outlet away from the laundry room and see what happens.  If the washer does ok, you will need to have the outlet checked.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have to admit that I have done maybe three loads of wash since we got the machine a few years ago. My wife does all the laundry but when she told me about the problem I went and put a load in and sat there while the load ran its cycle. No problems. Then I saw your post about "soap" and had a good chuckle because my wife's motto is "the more the merrier". I have walked by the washer when she is doing laundry and you can't even see the clothes through the suds. When I put the recommended amount in today I didnt even see any suds and the load worked perfectly.

I will get her to cut down on the amount of detergent and see if that works. We are using the HE type detergent so I assume it is just the amount being used that is the problem.

If the outlet is ok it sounds like it maybe one of these two parts that are faulty.
