Question: I have a Maytag Dishwasher Model #MDB7100AWQ (series 10) that is about 10 years old and it is leaking from the bottom front corners. What do you think could be wrong with it.
Answer: A deteriorated soap dispenser gasket is a very common leaking trouble maker. This is a cheap and easy repair that you can easily do yourself.
South Dakota residents have already claimed more than half of South Dakota’s energy-efficient appliance rebate money.
The stimulus-funded program encourages residents to replace old appliances with more efficient models.
As of this past week, rebate applications totaled more than $392,000 for around 3,500 appliances. Clothes washers, refrigerators and dishwashers have been the most popular replaced appliances.
Nearly $350,000 remains available.
The program ends when the funds run out.
Testing Range Elements
TESTING THE PLUG-IN SURFACE ELEMENT
1. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1 scale. 2. With the element removed, touch the meter leads to ends of the prongs.
The meter should indicate the following (approximate ±20%) resistance for the indicated element:
8 ” Element = 18 – 20 Ω
6 ” Element = 30 – 33 Ω

TESTING AN OVEN TEMPERATURE SENSOR
1. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 10 scale.
2. Touch the meter leads to the plug pins (see the illustration).
The meter should indicate approximately 1100 Ω at 75 ˚F. For resistances at other temperatures, refer to the chart below.

Range Infinite Switch
TESTING AN INFINITE SWITCH (ELEMENT CONTROL)
1. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1 scale. 2. With no power applied, disconnect the wires from the control terminals.
Turn the control to the “HI” setting, and you should obtain continuity readings between the following terminals:
L1 and P
L1 and H1
L2 and H2
